EPL Gameweek 24 comes at a tough time for all the teams. Those who play in European competitions are already feeling the effects of injuries and fatigue. When we add that the players who participated in AFCON are back, but that many of them are out of the rhythm, you can get a clear picture here of the problems and struggles many managers encounter.

There are a couple of big-time games in this round, the two most notable being Liverpool VS Newcastle and Tottenham VS Manchester City. They could have a huge impact on the standings. Leeds hosts the leaders, Arsenal, while Aston Villa meets Brentford at home.

Liverpool VS Newcastle

Liverpool hasn’t won in its last 5 games, and its next opponent, Newcastle, is also in a tough spot. The Magpies have won just once in their past 5 UCL games and play terribly on the road, winning just twice in their past 10 away outings.

Reds’ inconsistency cost them a lot this year, and the title talk is already over. The game against Newcastle can determine their chances of playing in the UCL next year, and, to be honest, the same goes for the guests.

The first meeting of the year saw Liverpool winning up north, 2-3. Overall, since 2015, they have only one loss to Newcastle. Right now, the team from Anfield has 4 straight wins and 7 in the last 8 at home against this rival.

Our pick here would be Liverpool, because Newcastle struggles heavily to play away from home. Their recent results are saying everything.

Tottenham VS Manchester City

City’s fans have plenty of bad memories when playing against Tottenham. And they aren’t very comfortable before this event. Especially because their team isn’t in some particularly great shape. After losing the Manchester Derby and VS Bodo in the UCL, they won back-to-back matches against the Wolves and Galatasaray, both 2-0.

Tottenham is slowly getting back into shape, having not lost three games in a row. Though two were in the UCL and the tie was in the EPL on the road in Burnley, 2-2. When looking solely at Premier League challenges, the Spurs haven’t won in their last 5 consecutive appearances.

Tottenham defeated City at the Etihad, 0-2, in the opening meeting of the year. They have three wins over this rival in the past 4 matches, which is enough for any City fan to be pretty nervous right now.

We won’t predict the winner here, but go with over 2.5 goals, because it seems like the least risky pick. Neither team is that good in the back line, and their offenses are the better parts of the respective units.

Leeds VS Arsenal

The Peacocks are tough these days and very unpredictable. Meanwhile, we all know that Arsenal plays maybe the best football in Europe when looking at the whole season, but is without a triumph in back-to-back EPL events. The positive spot in their game is offense, which provided 11 goals over the last 5 contests.

Leeds is a tough team, and Arsenal usually plays conservatively on the road, so we believe under 2.5 goals is the right bet for us.

In other games, we pick Chelsea to beat West Ham in a London Derby, and also to see at least three goals at Molineux, where ascending Wolves meet Bournemouth.
