Serie A is transforming into one very interesting competition following a decade in which we saw Inter and Juventus subsequently having a period of their domination. This year we have at least four teams that are considered title contenders, meaning that each round carries a lot of exciting matchups.

BetXchange presents the previews, odds, and picks of the most intriguing games of gameweek 8.

AC Milan VS Juventus

Both teams played in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, posting mixed results. Milan was blown into pieces against Chelsea in London, while Juventus beat Maccabi at home in Turin.

Rossoneri suffered a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, and may we add, that the game could have ended much differently if Pioli’s unit had scored some of their chances, particularly the one from the stoppage time in the first half. This was Milan’s fifth consecutive game with over 2.5 goals, and the first after six in which only one side netted.

On the other side, Juve beat Maccabi 3-1 at home, displaying a solid, but not an impressive performance. The Old Lady wasted a lot of chances, and once Maccabi cut the lead to 2-1 looked lost for a few minutes. Wednesday’s event was the second consecutive for the Old Lady in which they netted three or more hits.

Our pick for this game is over 2.5 goals, with both teams focusing on the attack more than the defense. On top of that, these units have better offenses than the defenses.

Monza VS Spezia

Raffaele Padallino gave new life to Monza following a takeover. Since his arrival at the bench of the newly promoted unit, Monza posted back-to-back wins, one over the great Juventus and the other against Sampdoria on the road. What is even better for this crew is keeping clean sheets in both of these events.

Meanwhile, Spezia has only one win in the last five games and when looking at the games only on the road, all four defeats since the beginning of the campaign. Additionally, they are without a scored goal away from home, allowing 10.

This is an ideal chance for Monza to extend its winning streak and continue with its rise in the standings. The main goal of this club is to stay in Serie A, and winning games like this one are imperative.

AS Roma VS Lecce

Il Lupi lost to Betis at home in the UEFA Europa League, 1-2. This was the second loss in this competition, with the situation complicating for Mourinho’s unit. It is the same in the Serie A, as Roma sits sixth, four steps behind Napoli and Atalanta, who top the standings but are under pressure not to waste points.

Lecce is in the middle of the standings, though not too far from the bottom. They have only one win in eight games, with four draws and three defeats, presenting a dull and ultra-defensive style of play.

Roma really can’t afford to drop any points here, not only due to a situation in the standings but also due to a difference in quality. Our pick here is Il Lupi to win.

Udinese VS Atalanta

One of the best games of the round, between two teams in great shape. Udinese has 19 points, Atalanta one more, and they are both in the UCL zone. While Udinese plays appealing and efficient football, Atalanta is on the completely opposite end. La Dea’s games are mostly with under 2.5 goals.

Still, our pick for the event at Friuli would be both teams to score, as they have tremendous potential in the attack.
