Featherweight action headlines the card at UFC Fight Night this weekend, as Giga Chikadze takes on Calvin Kattar. It should be an interesting night of action as the anticipation builds ahead of UFC 270 next weekend.

As well as the main event bout in the featherweight division, there is a stacked card of fights. Jake Collier and Chase Sherman meet in the heavyweight division in the co-main event, while Rogerio Bontorin and Brandon Royval clash in the flyweight division earlier on the card.

Kattar vs Chikadze Odds

It looks set to be an interesting bout given the odds that are on offer for both fighters for this showdown. Giga Chikadze is the narrow favourite in the BetXchange betting markets, as he is currently priced up at 4/10. Meanwhile, Kattar, who has vowed to win this fight emphatically, is the outsider at 19/10. However, there have been numerous examples of upsets in the recent UFC bouts that we have seen over the past couple of months, which means that there could be value in both fighters.

Chikadze On Winning Run

There are few more exciting stars in the UFC at present than Giga Chikadze. The 33-year-old has been in simply stunning form over the past couple of years, and is yet to suffer a defeat since being beaten by Austin Springer at Dana White’s Contender Series in June 2017. Since signing for the UFC and making his debut in September 2019, he has been a perfect 7-0.

All four of his first victories came by decision, with the most recent win by this method coming in October 2020 against Omar Morales. Since then, he has been a knockout machine. He ended contests against Jamey Simmons and Cub Swanson in the first round, before needing to go further in his last fight against Edson Barboza. However, he still claimed a TKO victory in the third round of their August bout. He seems to be on a roll, and looks hard to knock off.

Kattar Back After Year Off

Calvin Kattar is one of the most consistent fighters in the UFC, but he fought on just one occasion in 2021. That fight came at UFC on ABC, as he was beaten in an instant classic by Max Holloway in Abu Dhabi. It was a classic encounter, and one that certainly elevated Kattar further despite the defeat.

That defeat came after back-to-back wins against Jeremy Stephens and Dan Ige, with the prior mentioned win coming by KO in the second round. However, his absence away from the octagon could be a slight concern here, as Chikadze is likely to have less rust. However, that doesn’t take away from what should be a classic encounter between two skilfully gifted knockout stars.

Kattar vs Chikadze Pick

It looks set to be a thrilling fight between the two. However, the height and reach advantage, coupled with the extra fitness of Chikadze, makes him our pick to win the fight. However, it could be a classic that goes the distance.

Pick: Giga Chikadze @ 4/10 with BetXchange.
