The final tennis Grand Slam of the season gets underway on Monday, August 28, as the world’s best players on the ATP and WTA Tours will be looking to end their season on a high point.

The finals of the event will be played across the 9th and 10th September, but which players could be in with a chance of ending their 2023 Grand Slam season with a memorable victory?

Men’s US Open 2023 Odds

Carlos Alcaraz 23/20
Novak Djokovic 29/20
Daniil Medvedev 9/2
Jannik Sinner 10/1
Stefanos Tsitsipas 15/1
Holger Rune 16/1
Nick Kyrgios 18/1
Casper Ruud 18/1

Preview

The Men’s US Open title has been competed since 1881, and this year’s edition will be the 55th time that it has been staged during the Open Era. Roger Federer is the most successful player during the Open Era, as he sits alongside Jimmy Connors and Pete Sampras with five wins apiece.

However, there was a new name engraved on the trophy last year, as Carlos Alcaraz landed a first Grand Slam success. The Spanish star was excellent throughout the competition, as he answered doubts that he couldn’t perform on the hard surface in New York.

Novak Djokovic has won the US Open on three previous occasions, and has also lost in the final on six occasions. The Serbian will have a point to prove in New York this year after losing to Alcaraz in the final at Wimbledon during the summer.

Prediction

Both Alcaraz and Djokovic look very short in the betting for the US Open this year, which means that we will be taking a slightly more value angle. Casper Ruud reached the final at the US Open last year, and was narrowly denied victory in a thrilling final. He reached the final at the French Open earlier this year, and he could bounce back after a disappointing showing at Wimbledon.

Pick: Casper Ruud at 18/1 with BetXchange.

Women’s US Open 2023 Odds

Iga Swiatek 22/10
Aryna Sabalenka 9/2
Elena Rybakina 5/1
Jessica Pegula 9/1
Coco Gauff 12/1
Ons Jabeur 13/1
Marketa Vondrousova 20/1
Karolina Muchova 22/1

Preview

The Women’s US Open has been staged since 1887, and this year’s competition will be the 55th time that it has been staged in the Open Era. Serena Williams and Chris Evert are the two most successful players in the current era, with the latter holding the record for most consecutive titles.

A new era is certainly underway on the women’s tour, as Iga Swiatek has looked formidable throughout the season. The Polish star won this Grand Slam event in 2022, and has since added further French Open glory to her collection. The world number one will be bidding for a fifth Grand Slam title this year.

Ons Jabeur has reached three Grand Slam finals in the last 12 months, and she came close at the US Open in 2022. However, Swiatek’s most likely opposition will come in the forms of Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina.

The latter won Wimbledon last year, and followed that up by reaching the final at the Australian Open at the start of 2023. However, it would be a concern that she is yet to make it past the third round in four attempts at the US Open.

Prediction

At the prices available, it is well worth taking on Swiatek. There is excellent value in siding with Sabalenka in New York this year, as she has been dominant in Grand Slams since 2021. Over that period, she has reached six semi-finals, and finally landed a first title in Australia earlier this year. She has reached the final four in each of the previous two editions of the US Open, and we could see her going a few better this year.

Pick: Aryna Sabalenka at 9/2 with BetXchange.
