WTA San Diego Open Outright Betting
Some of the very biggest names in women’s tennis are in action in San Diego this week, with finishing the season within the world’s top 8 places the key objective for many players in the field, as the WTA Tour Finals are on the horizon next month.
Here are some our tips for the title in San Diego this week:
Iga Swiatek – 3/1 – World number one Iga Swiatek has been a pillar of consistency in 2022, with her two Grand Slam title wins representative of the excellent form she has displayed throughout the season. Fresh off her win at the US Open, Swiatek will be raring to go here, with the WTA Tour Finals very much in her sights.
Aryna Sabalenka – 13/2 – Aryna Sabalenka is another player that has enjoyed a more consistent run this season, without necessarily picking up the trophies her performances have deserved. She tends to play her best tennis on hard courts and after a run to the semi-finals of the US Open last month, she looks to be in good form.
Caroline Garcia – 15/2 – Another US Open semi-finalist this year, Caroline Garcia looks to have rekindled her best form once again this season. The Frenchwoman is one of the most enigmatic players on tour and she is capable of beating anybody on her day, making her a player to watch in San Diego this week.
Jessica Pegula– 10/1 – Home favourite Jessica Pegula will be backed to the hilt here in San Diego and she will relish the additional scrutiny on her. Seeded 4th here in San Diego, Pegula should have a relatively comfortable draw and should things go her way, she could well go very deep in California this week.
Danielle Collins – 12/1 – Another American in the draw is Danielle Collins, one of the most popular players on the circuit. She hasn’t played competitively since her last 16 defeat to Aryna Sabalenka at the US Open and she should be refreshed and ready for this one. Caroline Garcia in round one looks to be a tricky opener but if she can prevail, she could well go deep this week.
Cori Gauff– 16/1 – French Open finalist Cori Gauff continues to blaze a trail at the very top of women’s tennis, despite only being a teenager. Her presence here in San Diego is sure to attract plenty of attention from fans and she will enjoy having home backing. Another player with a tricky opening couple of matches but if she can survive them, she could go all the way.
Paula Badosa – 18/1 – Second seed Paula Badosa has endured a tricky run of late, which is represented in her odds here but she is more than capable at this level. Getting match practice in will be key for the Spaniard with the WTA Tour Finals on the horizon at the end of the month and she will be keen to go deep in San Diego this week.
