The US Open reached the semis, and we are here to deliver the preview of both matchups. While on one side we have the champion, Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime, on the other are Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

Of course, the latter attracts more attention, but be aware that Felix, despite recently losing heavily to Sinner, still has a positive record against the controversial Italian.

For those who would like to see some tennis odds, just follow the link.

Sinner vs. Auger-Aliassime Preview

Sinner has been overwhelmingly dominant throughout the tournament, dropping only one set—against Denis Shapovalov in the third round. Many wouldn’t remember that, but let’s say an unsportsmanlike move when he changed his shoelaces in the middle of the game with Shapovalov having the swing.

His journey to the semis included wins over Kopriva, Popyrin, Shapovalov, Bublik, and Musetti. In his most recent match, he dismantled Musetti in straight sets (6-1, 6-4, 6-2), showcasing a flawless serve with 10 aces and zero double faults. Though, that’s nothing new for arguably the best player in the world now.

His opponent, Felix Auger-Aliassime, had a tougher path to the final four. He went against the likes of Harris, Safiullin, Zverev, Rublev, and De Minaur, who was his rival in the quarterfinals. Auger-Aliassime has been aggressive on serve, hitting 22 aces in his last match but also tallying 11 double faults.

He decided to be more aggressive on the serve, which carries a lot of risk, yet if it goes well, it also offers plenty of reward. We’ll see how his tactics go against Sinner, who didn’t show any weakness so far, apart from the slight focus drop vs. Shapovalov.

Sinner vs. Auger-Aliassime H2H

Despite trailing 1-2 in their head-to-head, the current situation isn’t favoring Felix too much here. Sinner crushed him 6-2, 6-0 in their most recent encounter in Cincinnati, making him the clear favorite for the upcoming event.

Sinner vs. Auger-Aliassime Predictions

We do not doubt that Sinner will solve this one without any problems and in straight sets.

Djokovic vs. Alcaraz Preview

In the other semifinal, Novak Djokovic continues his pursuit of a 25th Grand Slam title. He overcame Taylor Fritz in four sets (6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4), playing a solid match, and being tested throughout the same. He seems fit and healthy, but we’ll see if that’s enough to threaten Carlos.

His earlier victories came against Tien, Svajda, Norrie, and Struff. While Novak posted solid stats (10 aces), his 55% win rate on second serve and negative winners-to-errors ratio (33 winners to 40 unforced errors) could be concerning. This reflects Novak’s desire to shorten the points and try to be more aggressive, but like every other tactic, it has its downsides.

On the other side, Carlos Alcaraz looks unstoppable. The French Open champion hasn’t lost a set, sweeping past Opelka, Bellucci, Darderi, Rinderknech, and Lehecka. His straight-set victory over Lehecka (6-4, 6-2, 6-4) included 28 winners and just 17 errors, which suggests that Alcaraz’s form is near 100%.

Djokovic vs. Alcaraz H2H

The Djokovic-Alcaraz rivalry stands at 5-4 in Novak’s favor, with the Serbian winning their most recent clash in Australia. Still, Alcaraz appears to be peaking at the right time, and to be honest, it’s not strange that the US Open odds heavily favor the youngster.

Djokovic vs. Alcaraz Predictions

Novak needs plenty of luck to win here, and even though we like the Serb, he has no chance against Carlos at this time. The Spaniard comes here following a win in Cincinnati, where he looked excellent, so we pick Carlos to win and cover a 1.5-set spread.
