There are three more races in the MotoGP championship, and the next is in Malaysia. The champion is already crowned, with Marc Marquez securing the title long ago.
Though there are plenty of other battles for the position in the standings, and riders who enter this event with high hopes are motivated to post their best and maybe reach some notable career milestones.
Heat andHumidity at Sepang
Heat and humidity will probably be the biggest problems for all the riders, who, although they have excellent physical abilities, can’t escape the environment’s influence or specific circumstances.

These wether conditions aren’t affecting only the riders but also the motors. How? Humidity can disrupt the balance of the entire engine and the tires. Heat is always a factor that can cause a setback, and Sepang’s sun is among the most intense on the calendar.
Overall, even though the atmosphere is relaxed for many participants, the weather and harsh climate conditions will be a huge, huge burden for all. Undoubtedly, Malaysian GP is by far the most challenging event in the MotoGP calendar.
Sepang Track Details
- Length: 5,540 km
- Width: 16 meters
- Constructor: Herman Tilke
- Most wins rider: Valentino Rossi 7
- Most wins manufacturer: Honda 33
This is a very fast and aggressive track, all of which was constructed by Tilke. It’s used for Formula 1, and that’s why the width is big—giving more space for overtaking and making the MotoGP race more interesting. It’s the widest track in the entire calendar. Though, because of all this, the tracks are highly dangerous, and we all remember 2011 when Marko Simoncinelli lost his life.
It was one of the most tragic moments in motorsports in the past few decades, and since then there have been many changes in rider safety.
There are two very long sprint lines, one 920 meters long, among the longest in the entire caravan. Seeing the motors flying here is an incredible sight, and that’s why many consider this sequence one of the most joyful in MotoGP.
Situation in the Stadings
The top two places are secured. The Marquez brothers are safe in No. 1 and No. 2. Alex has 97 points more than the third-placed Bezzecchi, while Bagnaia sits 8 points behind his Italian compatriot. Pedro Acosta is 49 points in deficit, and for him, this is do or die.

The young Portuguese has quite the potential and we just might see him in the title mix next season. Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli are theoretically in the race for third place, but they might as well concentrate on battling with Acosta for fifth position.
2024 Final Stadings at Sepang
Bagnaia dominated here last year, winning the pole and the race, and setting the fastest lap at the Malaysian GP. Jorge Martin was second and Enea Bastianini third.
Bagnaia vs. Martin Battle in 2024
This has to be one of the greatest duels in MotoGP history. Bagnaia and Martin battled for four incredible laps, during which they overtook one another 17 times. Yes, you’ve read it well, SEVENTEEN.
Absent Riders at Sepang
The champion, Marc Marquez, is out, and he won’t be back until next season. After all, he deserved a longer vacation than the others.
Maverick Vinales and the above-mentioned Jorge Martin will be out too, as well as Michele Pirro, Pol Espargaro, and Lorenzo Alvadori.
