Two of the most prominent sides in world cricket face off in what promises to be an enthralling T20 series as India host South Africa. Both sides will be looking to use the series as a yard stick with the T20 World Cup in the horizon next year. India will be eager to get back to winning ways after their 50 over World Cup disappointment in England as will South Africa who performed well below expectations and are looking to blood a new breed of international cricketers in this series.
With India and South Africa ranked 4th and 3rd respectively in the ICC World T20 rankings, it promises to be a fascinating series, full of high quality cricket.
India have nurtured a very settled team across all formats in recent times and their T20 side is no different. The absence of MS Dhoni has given a platform to emerging star Rishabh Pant in this series whilst Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will be looking to provide hefty blows at the top of the innings. Deepak Chahar and Navdeep Saini are likely to be their pace options as Virat Kohli’s side are once again able to demonstrate their incredible strength in depth.
South Africa look to be a side very much in transition with AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis and Hashim Amla just three of a long list of names to pull out of the international fold in recent times. Quinton de Kock will captain the side whilst Rassie van der Dussen has been promoted to vice captain. Temba Bavuma will be looking to transfer his good form from red ball cricket into the shorter format of the game whilst Andile Phehlukwayo and Kagiso Rabada look likely to spearhead an inexperienced yet talented bowling attack.
Series Betting Tip
South Africa are a tough side to beat in any format of the game but their inexperienced squad could come up short here against an Indian side in form and playing in home conditions.
2nd Match Preview:
India vs South Africa
Date: 18th September
Venue: I.S. Bindra Stadium, Mohali
Both sides are blessed with plenty of batting options and runs look guaranteed in Mohali on a pitch that is notoriously batsmen friendly.
With two of the biggest hitters in the game in Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan at the top of the order, India will be looking to make sparks fly from the outset.
Player Betting Tips
Rohit Sharma is India’s go-to man in the shorter form of the game and he will relish the opportunity to open the batting in favourable home conditions here.
Kagiso Rabada is one of the most dangerous pace bowlers in world cricket and with increased responsibility in this South African line up, he could be very effective at both the top and bottom of the innings.
BetXChange Best Bet
India generally look to bully their opposition by putting a big total on the board and defending it with the ball in hand. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are two men in great form and they could build the platform that sets up an Indian win here.
