Franck Ribery has done just about everything you can in a footballer’s career. The World Cup runner up and Champions League winner ended his long spell at Bayern Munich at the end of the 2018-19 season, looking to seek a new challenge after over a decade in Germany.

Most expect that Ribery will follow the late-career path of many legends of the game who are a little past their peak. Namely, he is expected to sign a big money deal in Qatar, China, or Australia, playing out the last couple of years of his career at a slower pace.

The 36-year-old winger though might not be taking the more comfortable way out after all.

It has emerged that Ribery is a target of Premier League new boys Sheffield United, a team looking to load up with talent and top-flight experienced as they embark on their first Premier League campaign since 2007.

If the move happens it will be a stunner. Ribery would not only be joining the most physical league in the world at the end of his career but he will also be joining a club that is nailed on to be in a relegation battle, something he has never experienced before.

The Blades are the 0.60 favourites for relegation back to the Championship with BetXChange. Ribery would surely shift that line if he made the switch to England.
