Team Previews

Pakistan

Few sides are as enigmatic in world cricket as Pakistan and once again in the 2022 T20 World Cup, they have already endured a rollercoaster ride. Final ball defeats to Zimbabwe and India have left Pakistan with a huge job to do in order to reach the knockout stages but they certainly haven’t given up hope yet.
Captain Babar Azam hasn’t been in great nick so far in this tournament, but he remains one of the most influential players in world cricket and he will be eager to start putting runs on the board. Shan Masood and Fakhar Zaman will be keeping it ticking over in the middle order, with Mohammad Rizwan in the side to provide an enigmatic edge.
For all their strengths with the bat in hand, it is in the bowling department that Pakistan are blessed. Shaheen Afridi remains one of the fastest bowlers in the world and he is well backed by the likes of Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah.

South Africa

Despite being the perennial underachievers at big tournaments, South Africa have a renewed look about them at the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. Temba Bavuma continues to struggle with the bat, but his captaincy gets the best out of his team, whilst Quinton de Kock remains on of the most potent players on the planet. Rilee Roussow and David Miller can be devastating on their day and they will be going hard at the Pakistan bowling attack.
In the middle order, Tristan Stubbs has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in the game, with Keshav Maharaj providing experience and guile in the spin department. Pace bowling is another strength of the Proteas attack too, with Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen and Lungi Ngidi all more than happy to take the game to Pakistan.

Match Betting Tips

Top Pakistan Batsman – Babar Azam – 3/1

Pakistan captain Babar Azam is a man out of form, but he will be eager to put that right here in this huge game.

Top South Africa Batsman – David Miller – 5/1

Fresh off his half-century against India, David Miller is always dangerous and as a man in form, he could be tough to stop at the SCG.

Top Pakistan Bowler – Shaheen Afridi – 4/1

Pace is always a leveller in T20 cricket and Shaheen Afridi has it in abundance, making him a real threat to the South African batters here.

Top South Africa Bowler – Kagiso Rabada – 28/10

Kagiso Rabada has been operating at the top end of the game for the best part of a decade and South Africa will be looking to him for wickets here.

Pakistan to win the match – 2/1

This is a very tough game to call between two very good sides but with Pakistan in need of a win to keep their knockout hopes alive, they could sneak over the line here against a very good South Africa side.
