Live tennis action returns in Canada next week, as the men’s and women’s National Bank Open takes place. The men’s event will be taking place in Toronto, and the women’s event will be staged in Montreal. Some of the biggest stars are expected to be involved in the event, but which players could claim the victories?

Women’s National Bank Open Preview

The reigning champion in the women’s half of the draw will be back to defend her title, as Bianca Andreescu is among the top seeds. She is the second seed in the National Bank Open this summer, and she will be looking to make home advantage count. The 21-year-old hasn’t enjoyed the best of seasons this year, as she has been unable to follow up on her US Open success in 2019 due to injuries. She was knocked out in the first round at Wimbledon and second round at the Australian Open this year.

Elina Svitolina could be one of the most consistent players in the women’s draw, as she has reached at least the quarterfinals in four of her last nine Grand Slam appearances. Confidence will also be high, as she recently won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. However, the top seed for the competition would be our selection.

Aryna Sabalenka has been one of the breakout stars this year, as she has enjoyed career-best runs in all three of the Grand Slams. She was excellent at Wimbledon earlier in the summer, before being knocked out at the semi-final stage. Her form is excellent, and she is currently at a career-best ranking of third in the world.

Pick: Aryna Sabalenka with BetXchange.

Men’s National Bank Open Preview

The men’s National Bank Open will be taking place in Toronto, and once again there is a stacked selection of players taking part this year. Rafael Nadal has an excellent record in this competition, as he has won five tournaments in the past. Two of his victories have come in the last two events, with the most recent coming in 2019. With no Novak Djokovic involved in Toronto over the coming weeks, it looks set to be all about the Spanish star. Nadal is seeded second for the event, just a place by Daniil Medvedev, who he beat in the final two years ago.

Roger Federer is another of the big names involved at the National Bank Open, as he looks to return to form after a crushing straight sets defeat at Wimbledon. Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime comes into this following an impressive Wimbledon campaign, and could be the leading chance for the hosts.

Alexander Zverev would be our selection to win the event in Canada. The German comes into the event after winning the gold at the Summer Olympics, and has been in strong Grand Slam form throughout the season. He enjoyed career-best performances at the French Open and Wimbledon, where he reached the semi-final and fourth round, respectively. He looks set for a strong showing at the US Open once again, and that could start with a win in Toronto.

Pick: Alexander Zverev with BetXchange.
