England right-back Kieran Trippier has emerged as a transfer target for a pair of Serie A clubs who are looking to strengthen at the position.
The Spurs defender scored an already legendary free kick for England against Croatia in the 2018 World Cup semi-final, but the former Manchester City and Burnley defender now faces an uncertain future at the club that he joined in 2015.
Speaking to Talksport he said, “Obviously this club has been very good for me over the last few years but I’ll enjoy my summer, come back in pre-season and that’s when I’ll sit down with the manager and have a talk about my future.
“I see a lot of speculation about me not being here. I give everything, 100 percent every game, win lose or draw. So we’ll see what happens in pre-season.”
Tripper was far from his best this season with Tottenham as he seemed to suffer from the World Cup hangover that plagues players who reach the last four of the tournament. With Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters available at the position, as well as money to spend, maybe it is time for Spurs to cash in on Trippier to strengthen elsewhere.
Tottenham are 0.65 to finish in the Top 4 next season and they are the third favourite to win the league at 14.00 on BetXChange. The two clubs linked with Tripper are Juventus and Napoli who are 0.45 and 5.50 to win Serie A respectively.
