While may sources had pointed to Manchester United as the likely destination for Leicester City defender Harry Maguire it now looks like the much sought after centre-back will be moving to the blue half of Manchester instead.
Reports have come in that the Premier League champions are moving fo Maguire as they have already said goodbye to stalwart of the club Vincent Kompany.
The Daily Star is reporting that officials at the Etihad have gone as far as penciling Maguire’s medical into the diary, with the transfer expected to cost around £65 million and be completed next week.
The main reason that Maguire will be swapping City for City, and not for United, is the desire to play Champions League football. As soon as City showed that they were prepared to meet the wages offered by the Red Devils, the defender’s choice became much more clear cut.
Manchester City are currently the 0.60 favourites to win the 2019-20 Premier League. Adding in Maguire would surely see those odds tighten even more. Manchester United are the 22.00 fifth favourites to win the league with BetXChange.
