ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament Bet Preview

The cut and thrust of the ATP Tour is back in 2021 with the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament taking place in Rotterdam. An event famed for patriotic crowds and top drawer tennis; the ABN AMRO won’t have its usual sense of occasion this season, but the quality of the draw looks to be as strong as ever in the Netherlands.

First held in 1972, the event has been a staple of the ATP Tour and the list of previous winners is testament to that. Arthur Ashe, Bjorn Borg, Boris Becker, and Roger Federer are just some of the all-time greats that have lifted the famous trophy in Rotterdam and with 500 ranking points on the lieu, it promises to be a fascinating week of tennis.

Plenty of the biggest names in the game are in the field here in Rotterdam and they will all be vying for precious ranking points:

Daniil Medvedev – 2.25 – Fresh from his run to the final at the Australian Open, Daniil Medvedev looks to be in superb form, and he is the justified favourite here in Rotterdam. Indoor hard courts suit his playing style, and he looks to be the man to beat – as the top seed.

Andrey Rublev – 4.50 – Fellow Russian Andrey Rublev has also become a force to be reckoned with on the ATP Tour and he too loves hard court contests. He succumbed easily to Medvedev in the last 8 at the Australian Open but will be eager to get some sort of revenge this week.

Stefanos Tsitsipas – 6.00  – Greek superstar Stefanos Tsitsipas toppled Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open but was ultimately bossed by Medvedev in the semi-final at Melbourne Park. He is one of the most talented men on tour and he will be hoping to turn that into more tournament wins.

Alexander Zverev – 9.00 – German Alexander Zverev continues to ply his trade in the top 8 in the world, but he hasn’t kicked on as many would have expected over the past few seasons. He has a great game for indoor hard courts though and could take some stopping if he gets his tail up.

Roberto Bautista Agut – 13.50 – Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut is a pillar of consistency on the ATP Tour and he will fancy his chances of a good run in Rotterdam this season. He looks to have a relatively tough draw in the Netherlands, but he should be fit and firing here.

Stanislas Wawrinka – 15.00 – Few players on the ATP Tour are as enigmatic as Stan Wawrinka and he is always a threat in any event he plays. Having won the event in 2015, he knows what it takes in Rotterdam and his powerful game can never be discarded.

Karen Khachanov – 18.00  – Former top 10 player and Paris Masters winner Karen Khachanov is always a huge danger on indoor hard courts, due to the powerful nature of his game and he could be a dark horse in a relatively open draw in Rotterdam this week.
