The first Grand Slam of the year is just around the corner, and we have to make a quick preview of both the men’s and the ladies’ part of the draw.

Here are the AO tennis odds for all those who want to check them out.

2025 Australian Open Men’s Draw

Will Novak win his 11th Australian Open, or will Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz finally “retire” the last of the original Big 3? That’s a question that itches all tennis lovers these days as the 2025 Australian Open approaches.

Also, is there a place for Alexander Zverev to capture his first Grand Slam victory? Could Daniil Medvedev make a strong comeback? These are the key tennis betting questions that will shape the upcoming fortnight Down Under.

Jannik Sinner enters the tournament as the clear favorite after a remarkable 2024 season, which saw him win his first major at the Australian Open and then add the US Open and ATP Finals titles to his resume. Sinner became world No. 1 in June and held that position until the end of the year, making him a top contender for the 2025 Australian Open.

However, Sinner faces plenty of doubts about his sportsmanship due to all the dirt that emerged following his doping scandal. So far, he hasn’t let that affect him, but at some point, it just might. On the bright side, Sinner will likely avoid meeting Djokovic or Alcaraz until the final, as his part of the draw looks very easy.

For the first time since 2017, Djokovic ended the calendar year without a major title. He lost the Wimbledon finals to Carlos Alcaraz and the Aussie Open semis to Sinner, but he won the one thing he needed to become the all-time great – Olympic gold. So, despite all the injuries and setbacks, the 37-year-old was satisfied with his productivity last season.

He lost to Riley Opelka in Brisbane last week and didn’t look good at all. But knowing Novak, that just might be a deception, especially in Australia, where he won titles without preparation.

Alcaraz, the 21-year-old Spanish sensation, has yet to capture the Australian Open, having failed to make it past the quarter-finals in his three attempts. But with his victory at the US Open and consistent form on hardcourts, Alcaraz will be a genuine contender in Melbourne.

He could potentially meet Djokovic in the quarter-finals, which would be an exciting matchup for tennis fans and bettors alike. If Alcaraz progresses, he may also face second seed Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals, though a clash with Sinner would have to wait until the final.

Alexander Zverev has long been in the conversation as a potential Grand Slam winner, and the 2025 Australian Open may be his best chance to break through. With his powerful game and experience, Zverev is a contender worth watching, especially with the potential to face Alcaraz in the semi-finals.

2025 Australian Open Women’s Draw

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka aims to achieve a historic third consecutive Australian Open title in 2025. After dominating the hardcourt season in 2024 and winning the US Open, Sabalenka enters as the clear favorite.

Her main competitors are likely to be Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, and Iga Swiatek, with Jessica Pegula and Karolina Muchova also capable of making deep runs. However, Sabalenka’s recent dominance and incredible record at Melbourne Park make her the one to beat.

Coco Gauff will meet Sofia Kenin in the first round, the former winner here. But that’s just a start for the American prospect, whose draw is extremely tough. Gauff may need to overcome formidable opponents like Pegula and Muchova to reach the semi-finals, where Sabalenka could be waiting.

Rybakina, a finalist at the 2023 Australian Open, struggled with injuries in 2024 but remains one of the most dangerous players in the draw when fit. After a solid start to 2025, Rybakina could be poised for another strong run, especially with a kind draw. A potential semi-final clash with Swiatek could be a highlight.

Iga Swiatek has struggled to make a significant impact at the Australian Open, but after establishing her reign in 2022 and 2023, winning the French Open and the Olympic bronze last year, she needs to be in title talks.
