The UK grass season is in full swing and with Wimbledon merely days away, the customary curtain raiser at Eastbourne is the center of attention on the WTA Tour. One of the biggest indicators as to who is in form heading into SW19 is often brought into sharp focus on the UK coast and the competition in Eastbourne is always intense. Ons Jabeur – 4/1 – Tunisian Ons Jabeur has no grass court pedigree to speak of but her continued consistency on the WTA Tour makes her a serious candidate here in Eastbourne. In a relatively open field, Jabeur does have a tricky looking draw but with her hitting power off the ground – she could be a surprise package on the grass this summer.

Maria Sakkari – 15/2 – Greek superstar Maria Sakkari is seeded 3h at this event in Eastbourne and should come into the tournament full of confidence. Back-to-back last 8 finishes in her last two tournaments mean suggest that she is at the top of her game, and she is another candidate to go all the way here at Eastbourne.

Paola Badosa – 9/1 – Spaniard Paola Badosa is operating at her highest ever world ranking, and she has emerged as one of the key contenders in every WTA Tour event she plays. Top seed here at Eastbourne will be a tag she will have to deal with and whilst she has no real grass court prestige, she is a serious talent.

Karolina Pliskova – 9/1 – Big hitting Karolina Pliskova is always a candidate in any tournament she plays. He grass court heritage speaks for itself, particularly in the UK and her recent form suggests that she will be a front runner here in Eastbourne.

Madison Keys – 12/1American Madison Keys has enjoyed a career renaissance of sorts in recent weeks, epitomized by her good run at the French Open. Grass perhaps isn’t her best surface, but she can always mix it with the best when she brings her A game.

Garbine Muguruza – 16/1 – Former Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza is tried and tested on grass and the field at Eastbourne looks well and truly within her range. With a big serve and a huge forehand to boot, few would rule out Muguruza here.

Jelena Ostapenko – 18/1 – Latvian Jelena Ostapenko is still grappling to find her best game and has no real track record on grass but she is continuing to put performances out there on the WTA Tour and she could sneak under the radar somewhat here.
