EFC 67 Preview and Betting odds

Eliasov vs Penco

The greatest cliché in sport sees Eliasov, the experienced veteran of the sport at age 34, take on the new kid on the block 22 year old Penco. Eliasov has been a pioneer of women’s MMA and has a strong background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Boxing together with good movement and strong submission offence.

Eliasov ranks and titles : South African champion 3 times in grappling, placed 3rd in European champs for BJJ, Won Abu Dhabi Africa trials in her weight division and 3rd in the absolute division.

Chiara Penco, from Italy is relatively new to the sport, but is already starting to make a name for herself. She has a strong ground game and her two most recent victories have come in the form of armbar and triangular choke submission.

Prediction: Eliasov is familiar with EFC and has a strong all round game, this coupled with her experience should see her claim victory at EFC 67.

Current EFC Betting odds:

  • Eliasov (6/10)
  • Penco (12/10)

Kabesa vs Silva

What was billed as the biggest fight in EFC featherweight history with  former champion Boyd Allen taking on Igeu Kabesa – the current EFC featherweight champion, is not to be. Allen pulled out of the fight due to illness and Paulo Silva from Brazil will now take the fight at short notice.

Igeu Kabesa, nicknamed “smiley”, is trained by Walter Wendt and possesses exceptional wrestling skills. He was undefeated in his first 8 EFC fights and only has 1 loss to go with his 9 wins. Coupled with his strong wrestling skills he possesses strong striking ability and has the ground and pound game to finish off opponents.

Late replacement for the fight is Paulo “Bananada” Silva. The Brazilian is a veteran in terms of MMA and has 34 fights under his belt with 22 wins and 12 losses. He has solid submissions skills with 10 of his 22 wins a result of submission including guillotine choke, rear naked choke and triangular choke.

Prediction: Youth, a full training camp and the drive to succeed is on the side of Kabesa. Silva will put up a good challenge, but we expect a win for Kabesa in the form of submission.

Current EFC Betting odds:

  • Kabesa (6/10)
  • Silva (12/10)
