The English Premier League kicks off this Saturday. BetXChange is here to make a preview of the entire opening round.
Fulham vs. Arsenal
The Cottagers are back, and they once again reached the EPL through the Championship playoffs. Unlike the previous time, when they bought numerous players, spending an enormous amount of money only to ruin the chemistry in the locker room, they were quiet this time. Arsenal added Willian from Chelsea, and two prospects from France, William Saliba, and Gabriel Magalhaes, saving the entire core from the previous year. They are the favorites here, but we are going with high efficiency.
Crystal Palace vs. Southampton
Regardless of their transfer activities, both the Eagles and the Saints didn’t change anything spectacular in their game. That is at least how we saw their respective pre-season matches. A tough, conservative, and defensive-minded approach is something both teams here prefer, which is why we suggest betting on low-efficiency.
Liverpool vs. Leeds
We’ve waited for so long to see the Peacocks back in the elite tier of English football. And they finally made it. Still, they will have a pretty cold welcome, as they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool, who is eager to redeem for a failure in the Community Shield. Have no doubt, the guests are not going to have a pleasant experience here.
West Ham vs. Newcastle
This is going to be either a very dull match or the most exciting one of the entire round. It is simply like that when these two clubs meet. The Hammers stayed in the league last year, while Newcastle eventually didn’t end up as another City, PSG, or Chelsea, because the Saudi prince didn’t purchase it in the end. We predict a draw in this event, it is the most likely outcome.
WBA vs. Leicester City
The Baggies didn’t change their squad too much during the summer. We are not sure whether they have the quality to stay in the league right now. Slaven Bilic landed a few players on loan, but still, that is not what the fans hoped for. Leicester sold Chilwell, while buying Timothy Castagne on the other side. It is basically the same team from the previous year, and they should be able to beat the newcomers.
Tottenham vs. Everton
A derby of the round. Two close teams and candidates for the Champions League race. Mourinho worked hard in the preseason to implement his vision and ideas, and it seems that he now won’t have any excuses for bad results. One the other side, another big name coaches the Toffees, Carlo Ancelotti. The guests landed James Rodriguez and Allan, meaning that they aren’t going to be satisfied with the Europa League place or anything similar. A trophy in one cup competition or a UCL spot is the mission for the upcoming year. As for this match, moderate efficiency is the best choice, 2 or 3 goals.
Sheffield United vs. Wolves
Last year these two sides were the nicest surprise in the EPL. Both the Blades and the Wolves were in the Champions League race even after the COVID-19 pause. What is the trademark for both teams is a very, very defensive-minded approach. Three goals in their respective matches were pretty rare, and we expect to see the same efficiency in this contest.
Brighton vs. Chelsea
The Blues had a very busy transfer window. Werner, Havertz, Chilwell, Sarr, Ziyech earlier, and Thiago Silva all landed at Stamford. Their arrival made Chelsea a title contender and one of the most talented teams on the continent. There is no doubt that Lampard’s team will be much stronger than during the last year, while on the other side, the potential this side has would be incredible. As for Brighton, another year of fighting to stay alive in the EPL is ahead of them. In this match, anything other than Chelsea’s win would be a surprise.
