The EPL campaign continues as Tottenham Hotspur meets Chelsea this Saturday. Two London clubs share a long history; therefore, this isn’t just another game for either side, but a contest with a significant rival.
While Chelsea sits 9th in the standings, the Spurs are third and have 5 points fewer than the leaders, Arsenal. Their goal difference is solid, yet it kinda feels like Tottenham could play much better.
The same goes for Chelsea, who recently slowed down in the EPL, which is perfectly normal. Many forget that this unit didn’t have any rest this summer as it played the FIFA Club World Cup. After all, even though the Blues have a fantastic roster, the guys on the same team are only humans.
Here are EPL odds for all the football bettors eager to find some.
Tottenham Hotspur VS Chelsea Preview
Tottenham Hotspur
The Spurs are in very shaky form when considering all their competitions. Over the past five games, this team has recorded two wins, two losses, and a tie. What’s problematic is that they haven’t scored in two of the past three meetings, but on the other hand, all of them were on the road.
🚨🎙️Thomas Frank with a message to the #Tottenham supporters ahead of the Chelsea game:
"Home game against Chelsea under the floodlights is going to be unique and special. I'm really looking forward to it. We need the fans behind us. I know they give us everything and the best… pic.twitter.com/byxnPJ3HOy

It’s why their fans expect to see them fierce and motivated, as they rarely played at home over the past month. To be exact, only once. Tot’ham’s game is fluid, and they don’t like slow matches, with plenty of set pieces. If we were to only count goals from open play, excluding all those from set pieces, the Spurs would be the No.1 in the Premiership in terms of points.
In terms of efficiency, six of the previous eight events saw two or three goals, which clearly indicates that the Spurs aren’t as open-minded as they were before. Just remember the scores in their matches, which usually included at least 3 or 4 hits.
Chelsea
The Blues are very undisciplined and have received 6 red cards in their past 10 games. This team has found its groove following a series of shaky performances and poor results, and currently, we have seen Maresca’s crew winning in five of the previous six appearances. More importantly, in four of those triumphs, Chelsea netted at least twice.

Also, after losing to Bayern in Munich and United in Manchester, the club from Stamford posted three consecutive away wins. Sure, the rivals weren’t some notable names, Lincoln, Nottingham, and Wolves, but wins are wins.
The other big problem for Maresca, besides the fatigue, is the defense. Chelsea’s back line is easily breached, and the Blues have just two clean sheets in their last 10 games.
Tottenham Hotspur VS Chelsea Head to Head
Chelsea has won the previous four matches against Spurs, in each but one, netting two or more goals. Last season, we saw them triumphing 3-4 at the Tottenham Stadium, and after that, winning 1-0 at Stamford.
Tottenham Hotspur VS Chelsea Predictions
The one thing we do know is that Chelsea has problems with defense. That’s for sure, and regardless of their tactics here, we strongly believe that the Spurs will score at least once. Meanwhile, the Blues’ attack has been performing well over the past several weeks, consistently breaking down any defense it encounters. Tottenham’s won’t stop them as well.
Since this is a derby between two teams who are in solid shape (though Chelsea’s results are better, but Tottenham played on the road constantly), it should bring action, and not only goals on both ends, but at least three or more scores.
Therefore, our final verdict is that both teams will score, and there will be over 2.5 goals.
