The Max Verstappen victory lap of the world continues in Singapore, as the Dutchman sits on the cusp of yet another world title, but he will be eager to finish the campaign strongly. Singapore finds itself back on the F1 calendar again in 2022, after missing both 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID 19 pandemic and things it should be another superb race through the principality. All of the key runners and riders will be desperate to secure race points in Singapore, with the 2023 season meandering towards its end.

In race sixteen of the 2023 Formula One season, all of the biggest names on the grid will be battling for supremacy here in Singapore:
Incredibly, the Marina Bay Circuit is a track where Max Verstappen has never won a race and the Dutchman will be doing all he can to put that right this weekend. He has won his last 11 outings in the 2023 F1 season, an all-time record and whilst he may not naturally enjoy conditions here in Singapore, he will be the man to catch. Results throughout the grid could also go his way, enabling him to clinch the title this weekend too.
Defending Singapore Grand Prix champion Sergio Perez has been firmly in the mix of late in all of the Formula 1 races he has had, and he should go well this weekend too. Pace is key for Perez, who continues to drive without fear, and he is truly getting the very best out of his excellent Red Bull car. Of course, Verstappen has proved a hill too big for Perez to overcome but how he would love to pip his team mate to the post in this one.
Three-time Singapore Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton is still awaiting his first win of the 2023 season and how the team at Mercedes would appreciate the British legend getting over the line here. Signs of late have been that Hamilton is improving his confidence levels with the Mercedes car and talk within the group has been all about preparing for the 2024 campaign and there is no better way than a good drive here in Singapore.
McLaren continue to punch above their relative weight in the world of Formula 1 and Lando Norris is very much at the heart of their operation. Race wins are the notable omission from Norris’s fledgling CV and the young Brit is continuing to put strong showings in for his team. Conditions in Singapore should suit Norris, who can navigate the street circuit well and he could pick up any pieces that come his way.
Top Six Finish
Race 16 of the season here in Singapore presents an opportunity for every driver to keep putting points on the board:
George Russell continues to plug away for Mercedes, who are still seeking the perfect blend of speed and control. Monza last time out was an indicator of the progress being made by both Mercedes and Russell and Singapore will provide a sterner test. The young Brit should go well here, in conditions that should favour his driving style.
Monza also brought about a huge boost in morale at Ferrari, with both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz shaping up well. Leclerc has been struggling throughout the 2023 season, particularly in terms of speed, meaning Singapore could well be a better suit for the man from Monaco, with the street circuit very familiar to him.
The aforementioned success for Ferrari at Monza was enjoyed by Carlos Sainz too, with the team seemingly getting their house in order for the 2024 season. Singapore should also suit Carlos Sainz, who is a driver full of confidence currently and he will feel that a top 6 showing is firmly within his reach here.
