Two of the most successful teams in FA Cup history will collide in the final four of the competition this term, with either Chelsea or Man City moving forward to take on Man United or Coventry City this term. City come into this crucial stage as the defending champions, while Chelsea have lost in three of their last four appearances in the final.

Man City vs Chelsea Odds

Man City will come into the semi-final weekend as the 12/25 favourites to reach a second straight final. The reigning champions are also the outright favourites in the BetXchange betting to win the FA Cup this term. Chelsea could be a potentially interesting angle at 11/2 in the current betting, while the draw after 90 minutes is priced up at 39/10.

Man City Route To The Semi-Final

Man City boast an excellent FA Cup record under Pep Guardiola, and they will be chasing a third success in the competition this term. City were excellent in last season’s final, beating Man United 2-1 at Wembley. They haven’t been truly tested in the competition once again this term after breezing through each of the last four rounds without much of an issue.

City cruised through the third round with a 5-0 home win over Huddersfield, before holding their nerve to land a 1-0 success over Tottenham in the fourth round. The reigning champions were at their brilliant best at Luton in the fifth round, landing a 6-2 success. In the last round, Bernardo Silva scored both goals in a 2-0 home win over Newcastle.

Chelsea Route To The Semi-Final

Chelsea will be looking to reach a second domestic cup final of the season under Mauricio Pochettino this term, but they will be hopeful of better outcome after losing against Liverpool in the EFL Cup final in February. The Blues come into this semi-final showdown in excellent recent form, most recently landing a dominant 6-0 home win over Everton in the Premier League.

Chelsea cruised through the opening round of the FA Cup, dominating Preston to land a 4-0 win. However, they needed some fortunate in the following round after edging past Aston Villa following a replay. The Blues held their nerve in the fifth round to land a 3-2 home win over Leeds United, before edging a thrilling quarterfinal showdown against Leicester to secure a 4-2 success.

Man City vs Chelsea Head to Head

Chelsea are winless in their last eight matches against City since their victory in the Champions League final in May 2021. Since then, City have recorded six victories. However, each of the meetings this term have ended in draws, including a 1-1 outcome at the Etihad at the end of February.

Man City vs Chelsea Prediction

Chelsea’s record against City is a major concern ahead of this semi-final showdown between the clubs this week. City are chasing a second straight treble under Guardiola, and we fully expect them to book their spot in the Wembley showpiece on Saturday evening.

Pick: Man City at 12/25 with BetXchange.
