Another intoxicating weekend of Formula 1 action is set for this weekend, as the Marina Bay Street Circuit plays host to the Singapore Grand Prix.

Battles in the Drivers’ and Constructors’ standings have taken shape since the summer break, and there will be everything to play for when the F1 action moves back to Asia this weekend.

But, will there be any response from Red Bull after losing top spot in the Constructors’ standings?

Singapore Grand Prix Odds

For the second weekend running, McLaren drivers dominate the BetXchange market to win a Grand Prix. Lando Norris is a short price favourite this weekend at 7/4, while teammate Oscar Piastri is a 7/2 chance to record a second successive win.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are next in the betting, with the Ferrari drivers priced up at 7/2 and 7/1, respectively. Reigning world champion Max Verstappen is available at 9/1, with Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and George Russell priced up at 16/1.

Track Details & Records

The Singapore Grand Prix was first held in 2008, with the drivers completing 62 laps of the 4.94 km street circuit this weekend to make up the 306.143 km race distance. As one of the fastest street circuits on the schedule, there are three DRS zones to aid with overtaking.

Lewis Hamilton holds the lap record after completing a time of 1:35.867 in 2023. Ferrari has the most wins, with Carlos Sainz landing a fifth for the team last season.

Race Preview

There appears to be a wide-open feel to the final seven rounds of the F1 season this term, with extra emphasis likely to be put on the remaining three Sprint Races that could have an important role in determining the Drivers’ and Constructors’ champions for 2024.

Last weekend was a hugely successful one for McLaren, with Oscar Piastri’s win in Azerbaijan catapulting the British team to the top of the Constructors’ standings for the first time this season. Lando Norris also would have taken positives from his recovery drive to finish fourth to close the gap in the Drivers’ standings on Verstappen.

It was another weekend to forget for the Dutchman, who finished off the podium for the fourth time in five races. Still, his advantage at the top of the standings remains healthy at 59 points. Charles Leclerc and Ferrari could yet have a say in both championships. The Ferrari looked very competitive on the streets of Baku, and challenged for the win until the driver cooked his tires in the closing stages.

George Russell claimed a dramatic podium for Mercedes after a crash between Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz, but the car didn’t look quick enough to rival the top three teams before that drama. Williams claimed important points last weekend, showing their speed around a street circuit with both Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto finishing in the top ten.

Singapore Grand Prix Prediction

We expect another fight between Ferrari and McLaren for the race win this weekend, as they both appear to have a pace advantage over Red Bull. The preference is for Lando Norris to claim the success to breathe new life into the Drivers’ Championship battle.

Pick: Lando Norris at 7/4 with BetXchange.
