Two South African teams, and three teams total from the South African Conference, will be on the pitch this weekend playing in the Super Rugby Quarter-Finals.
The long, 120 match season came down to a thrilling pair of games on the final Saturday. The Sharks stole a win out of the clutches of the Stormers with an injury-time try from centre Lukhanyo Am. This only came after the Sharks scored their first try on a lucky turnover on a length of the field sprint that started an inch from their own goal line.
The Bulls then picked up a bonus point win over the Lions, looking outstanding in attack and suspect in defense.
The South African Conference crown had already been claimed earlier in the season by Los Jaguares, a team that must be considered a serious threat to win the whole competition at 8.00 third favourites with BetXChange thanks to the Test match level at which they play their games.
The full quarter-final lineup is as follows:
- Crusaders (1) vs. Highlanders (8)
- Hurricanes (4) vs. Bulls (5)
- Jaguares (2) vs. Chiefs (7)
- Brumbies (3) vs. Sharks (6)
What is noticeable is that once again the Australian Conference seems to be in crisis with just one of the eight teams in the quarter-final round. The Brumbies can be had as a 10.00 chance with BetXChange, while the smart money is falling on the mighty Crusaders 0.55 and the flashy Hurricanes at 3.00.
