The UEFA Champions League is starting tomorrow. We have another fantastic football campaign ahead of us, with lots of thrilling games and beautiful goals. But apart from that, UCL carries a bunch of opportunities for making money, and that’s why we are here. Stay tuned and see the best picks for round 1, along with the BetXchange odds.
Benfica VS Maccabi Haifa
The Eagles have been very good so far this year. To be precise, they were perfect, posting nine wins in nine games and displaying amazing football. They haven’t faced too many tough rivals, but anyway, the two-time European champs are really impressive.
On the other side, we have an offensive-minded Israeli champion, who always likes to attack regardless of the rivals and the circumstances. They did well in the UCL qualifiers beating Olympiacos and Red Star, but this is another level now.
That’s why we bet on Benfica’s win in this event, by at least a two-goal margin. The Eagles love to play against such units, and usually dismantle them early on.
Pick: Benfica -1.5 7/10 at BetXchange
Club Brugge VS Bayer Leverkusen
While on one side, the hosts are doing pretty well, Leverkusen is falling apart. Club Brugge defeated the local rivals, Cercle 4-0 this week, and that was their fourth win in a row.
Leverkusen has four losses and a win since the start of Bundesliga, with terrible chemistry on the field. Something is rotten in their locker room, and we aren’t going to guess what, but such a situation reflects on the results. The defense is awful, presenting a problem, while on the other side, the attack gives some signs of life.
The best pick here is both teams scoring. Brugge has a unique chance to win a game at home, while on the other hand, Bayer’s attack is ok, but the defense is beneath any level.
Pick: Both teams to score 2/5 at BetXchange
Inter Milan VS Bayern Munich
Nerazzurri suffered a knockout in the local derby against Milan this weekend, 3-2, and that was the fourth game in the past five in which Simone Inzaghi’s unit allowed a goal. It was the third game with over 3.5 goals and both teams netting in which Inter appeared, suggesting that they have problems in the backline.
Bayern stopped in Berlin, playing 1-1 against Union, and that was the second straight Bundesliga game in which they didn’t manage to win. However, the Bavarians didn’t play with the best team, keeping themselves ready for this event. Their recent road events were superb, scoring 23 goals in four outings before the one in Berlin.
Inter’s defense problems suggest that it is best to bet on Bayern’s high efficiency, that is, on the guests to score two or more goals.
Pick: Bayern over 1.5 goals 1/2 at BetXchange
Barcelona VS Plzen
Blaugrana can’t wait to start its quest in the UEFA Champions League, and all the players are getting ready for Wednesday’s debut against Plzen. The difference between these units is so significant that we don’t even want to talk about it.
We are going here with over 1.5 goals in the first halftime. Just in case, we won’t take Barca to score twice inside the opening 45 minutes because the odds are great anyway.
Pick: Over 1.5 HT 4/5 at BetXchange
PSG VS Juventus
Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe finally found their groove, and the Saints are looking pretty furious right now. They’ve scored 24 goals in six Ligue One games, having five wins and one draw, sometimes removing the foot of the gas and saving energy.
On the other side, Juventus is inconsistent, and the results show that. The Old Lady has three draws in the past four games, which is far away from the plans. The Italian powerhouse doesn’t have a compact midfield, which will be a massive problem against PSG.
Our pick for this game would be PSG -1.5, because of their current level of play which is one level above Juve’s.
Pick: PSG -1.5 5/6 at BetXchange
