The UFC will stage Fight Night this coming weekend at the UFC Apex. There is an excellent selection of fights on the main card for the evening, but the main event will see Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland clash in the middleweight division.

Hall vs Strickland Preview

It will be a huge night on Saturday evening for both Hall and Strickland, as they both look to rise up the middleweight rankings. Strickland is the current 9/20 favourite with BetXChange to win the fight, while Hall is valued at 33/20 to get the victory in the main event at Fight Night.

Strickland comes into the fight with an impressive 23-3 record. All three of his defeats have come in the UFC, which gives him a record of 10-3 in the UFC. His most recent defeat came just over three years ago, as he was beaten in the opening round via spinning wheel kick and punches by Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in Rio de Janeiro at UFC 224. Since that defeat, he has improved immeasurably in the octagon, and has won his last five fights.

Strickland returned to the octagon following that defeat with a TKO victory over Nordine Taleb. However, fans wouldn’t see him again for two years following that win. He returned to the Octagon in October 2020 on the Hall vs Silva undercard. This would be his return to the middleweight division, and he claimed the victory over Jack Marshman by unanimous decision. A TKO victory over Brendan Allen followed the following month, which saw him awarded the performance of the night bonus. His most recent fight came against Krzysztof Kotko in May, as he won by unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

Hall is currently ranked higher than Strickland in the middleweight division. His last defeat also came in 2018, as he was beaten by TKO by Paulo Costa on the UFC 226 undercard. However, he has been impressive since that defeat as he has gone four without defeat. Three of these victories have been achieved by TKO/KO, which includes his last two wins. His most recent victory came inside the opening round, as he beat Chris Weidman by TKO in April. He also claimed a massive TKO victory over Anderson Silva back in October last year.

Hall has been awarded the performance of the night bonus twice in his career, with the most recent coming after he beat Jotko by TKO in September 2017. Both fighters’ recent records will make this a fascinating contest.

Hall vs Strickland Prediction

Hall and Strickland both come into this fight in the form of their lives, and that makes for a compelling contest. Hall has won inside the distance in three of his last four fights, while Strickland has gone the distance just twice in the same number of bouts. That means a TKO/KO finish is likely, but we will side with Strickland to get the victory.

Pick: Strickland at 9/20 with BetXchange.
