Tournament Preview
One of the key events outside of the majors returns to the PGA Tour in 2021 as the Wells Fargo Championships gets underway at Quail Hollow. Played in a variety of different guises over the years, the event has been on the PGA Tour since 2003 and has always been a huge money spinner for those involved. With a whopping $8 million in the prize pot, there is plenty to play for in North Carolina and Quail Hollow provides the backdrop as one of the most complex golf courses on the PGA Tour. Previous winners of the event include Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, and Rickie Fowler – testament to the esteem the event is held in and it should be another superb weekend of golf.

Plenty of the biggest names on the PGA Tour feature here in North Carolina and they will be keen to get their hands on some silverware here:-
Justin Thomas has been in fine form all season on the PGA Tour and he is sure to be a front runner in a strong field this week in favourable conditions in North Carolina.
Spaniard Jon Rahm could come back refreshed after a couple of week break on the PGA Tour and he will be desperate to break into the winners circle for the first time in 2021.
Big-hitting Bryson DeChambeau doesn’t look the best fit for Quail Hollow but with incredible ball striking and power, he has the game to tear up any course on his day.
Two-time winner of the event Rory McIlroy has shown mere glimpses of his best form this season and a return to one of his favourite courses in the world could help him rekindle his best A-game.
Young Norwegian Viktor Hovland has been in superb form on the PGA Tour this season and after countless top 10 finishes, he will be desperate to start putting some wins on the board soon.

The whole field here in Charlotte will believe they can get off to a strong start and if they do so they could set themselves up for the week ahead:
Mr consistent Tony Finau has been one of the standout performers on the PGA Tour this term and he could be one to watch on a course that looks perfect for this accurate game.
Mexican Abraham Ancer has been in fantastic form so far this season and his tendency to get off to fast starts could be beneficial for him this week.
2018 Wells Fargo champion Jason Day hasn’t been in the best of nick in recent times but a return to familiar surroundings could do him some good this weekend.
Top Ten Finish
With so many quality players assembled here in North Carolina, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday afternoon:-
Canadian Corey Connors has been in scintillating form of late on the PGA Tour and he will be looking to turn all his recent promise into a top 10 finish this week.
South Korean Sungjae Im is developing into one of the most feared men on the PGA Tour and he looks excellent value to finish inside the top 10 come Sunday afternoon.
American Stewart Cink is the epitome of a seasoned pro and with a win under his belt already on the PGA Tour in 2021, he should be raring to go in North Carolina this weekend.
