The US hard court swing is in full flow on both the ATP and WTA Tours and the Western & Southern Open is one of the biggest tournaments outside of the 4 Grand Slams. Both the men’s and women’s events in Cincinnati have attracted stellar fields in 2021 and with over $7 million dollars in the respective prize pots, there is plenty to play for this week.

Naomi Osaka – 9/2 – Four-time Grand Slam champion and reigning US Open Champion Naomi Osaka has been in superb form in 2021. She has been a leading light in the promotion of mental wellbeing amongst elite athletes and she will be eager to get back to winning ways on the court here.

Ashleigh Barty– 7/1 –  Wimbledon champion and world number one Ashleigh Barty has been another stand out performer on the WTA Tour this season and she will be looking to maintain her good form throughout the US hard court swing.

Aryna Sabalenka – 8/1 – Belarussian superstar Aryna Sabalenka always appears to be on the brink of a big win in her career and the Western & Southern Open should suit her playing style. She has a good draw here in Cincinnati and he could well sneak under the radar a little bit.

Iga Swiatek – 14/1 – Young Polish talent Iga Swiatek has been dining at the top table of world tennis for 12 months now, following her French Open win in 2020. She isn’t known for a huge amount of hard court prowess, but she is a very clean ball striker, and she could well be one to watch this week.

Daniil Medvedev – 4/1 – 2019 US Open runner up Daniil Medvedev has always enjoyed playing on hard courts and there is a growing feeling that he could break his Grand Slam duck in 2021. He is the top seed here and should take some beating with his tail up.

Stefanos Tsitsipas – 6/1 – French Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas heads up the next generation of players on the tour and he could be one to watch in a congested draw here. He is super talented across all surfaces, and he is more than capable of beating anyone on his day.

Alexander Zverev – 6/1 – Fresh from his historic gold medal triumph at the Tokyo Olympics, Alexander Zverev looks well placed to make an assault on the very top of the game. He reached the final of the US Open last year and he could be a good pick to go all the way in Cincinnati this week.

Andrey Rublev – 12/1 – Russian Andrey Rublev has been one of the most consistent performers on the ATP Tour this season and has broken into the top 10 in the world as a result. He is a former US Open semi-finalist and with hard courts being his favoured surface, he could be one to watch this week.

Karen Khachanov – 30/1 – Big hitting Russian Karen Khachanov took out some big names on his way to an Olympic silver medal in Tokyo last time out and on a court type that will definitely suit his playing style, he looks over priced in Cincinnati this week.
