It is a battle of undefeated teams in the Cricket World Cup on Thursday as Australia takes on West Indies at Trent Bridge. The Windies were perhaps the most impressive team of all in their opening match in the competition as they dismantled Pakistan with their impressive pace bowling attack. They bowled out Pakistan for just 105 runs, needing only 13.4 innings and three wickets to confirm their win.
Australia also picked up a win first time out as they went over Afghanistan in an expected victory. Australia bowled out the Afghans for 207 runs in 38.2 overs, also losing just three wickets in reply in an impressive batting display where they always felt in control.
Match Preview
The interesting clash here is the bowling attack of the West Indies against Australian batsmen who are not used to taking on a pace attack in competitive international matches.
The Aussies last 25 competitive fixtures have been against teams from the sub-continent, meaning that all they have seen for the last half a year has been attacks dominated by spin. There are world class batsmen in the Australian lineup, but are they going to be able to knock off the rust quickly enough to deal with the Calypso onslaught of the Windies pacemen.
Australia beat the West Indies by seven wickets in a warm-up game before this tournament began. Expect a short pitch bowling onslaught from the men from the islands as they attempt to bowl over Australia and come out on top this time.

Betting Tips
Total Runs in the Match – Under 620.5 – 0.90
We like the under here as the West Indies bowling attack is capable of shutting down even the great batting of Australia. We like this even more if the Aussies are put in to bat first, but note that Trent Bridge is a small ground and the ball will fun.
Australia Top Batsman: David Warner – 2.75
Warner has everything you want in an opener and he was on form in Bristol. His hard-hitting style is going to be important on the small pitch at Trent Bridge and the lefty is the favorite to be the best Aussie on display.
West Indies Top Bowler: Oshane Thomas – 3.50
The variety and depth of pace that the West Indies will throw at Australia is shown by the face that BetXChange has five of their six bowlers grouped together at 3.50 to be the best on ground. Thomas gets the not here for his bat shattering speed and his form against Pakistan.
Match Prediction
The defending champions will be fully aware of what they are about to face in Nottingham. Holding Pakistan out for just 105 runs on a batters wicket at Trent Bridge is highly impressive. If the Windies can take the wicket of Warner early then there could be a big upset on the cards, but we need to see more than one outstanding display by the West Indies before we can fully buy into their tournament chances.
Australia at 0.50 is the pick here.
