Tyrell Hatton – The 26 year old comes into this years Nedbank Golf Challenge as one of the favourites. This is not surprising as the Englishman has had a tremendous few months and just last month he won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the Italian Open. He is currently ranked 5th in the Race to Dubai and will be a real threat at this weeks tournament.

Rafael Cabrera Bello – The Spaniard who grew up in the Canary Islands is a fan of the sunshine and this should stand him in good stead at the Gary Player Country Club. Two great Spaniards in Seve Ballesteros and Sergio Garcia have won this tournament before and Bello will be looking to follow in their great footsteps. Rafa has been in decent form and won the Scottish Open this year and finished an impressive fourth in the Open Championship.

Alex Noren – 2016 was a fantastic year for the Nedbank Golf Challenge defending champ. His impressive 6 stroke win at last years tournament took his tournament victories to a total of 4 in 11 starts. 2017 has also been productive on the European Tour for the 35 year old Swede.  He has had 5 top ten finishes and won the BMW PGA Championship in May.

Tommy Fleetwood – this year has been his most successful as a professional, winning two European tour events, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in late December 2016 and the HNA Open de France in July. His great form has resulted in him currently leading European Tour’s Race to Dubai.  At just 26 years old he has extensive knowledge for the game and has a bright future.

Charl SchwatzelCharl Schwatzel
– The runner up in 2012 is a South African favourite and is aiming to be the first South African since 2007 to win the Nedbank Challenge. Shwartzel has had a fair start to the PGA season making all three cuts with a best finish of 28th at The CJ Cup in mid October. The local knowledge and home support will put him in contention.

Brandon Stone – After being granted an invitation to play at this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge, Stone is our wildcard pick. Stone is no stranger to tournament victories in South Africa and won the BMW South African Open in January 2016 as well as the Alfred Dunhill Championship in the same year.
