Tuesday sees a battle between La Liga giants as Atletico Madrid travels to the Camp Nou to face Barcelona.
Barca and Atletico sit first and fourth on the log as we enter Round 15 this midweek. It is a tightly packed tackle, with the top four teams currently separated by just three points. Barca (34) and Atlti (31) are split by an expected challenger in Real Madrid (33) and an unexpected upstart in Villarreal (32).
That makes this a virtual six-pointer at the top of the table, with both Barca and Atletico thinking they have enough to win La Liga this season.
Here is a look ahead at the contest.
Barcelona VS Atletico Madrid Venue: Camp Nou
Barcelona VS Atletico Madrid Date: Tuesday, December 2
Barcelona VS Atletico Madrid Odds:
History
This will be the fourth time that these two sides have met in 2025. Few who saw it will ever forget the 4-4 thriller back in February, but Barca got the better of Atleti twice since then. A 4-2 win in March was followed by a 1-0 win in April, both played in Madrid.
Barcelona
Barcelona have been strong domestically this season despite some issues in the Champions League. Their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea this time last week was a low point of the season, but they reacted well in cruising to a 3-1 win over Alaves at the weekend.
There will be some selection issues for Barca, as almost the whole squad is available. Frenkie de Jong should be available to partner Pedri in the middle of the park, while the head coach has to make five fit into three up top. The balance of the attack will be vital, with Lemine Yamal, Raphina, Robert Lewnadoski, Marcus Rashford, and Ferran Torres all hoping to start.
Atletico Madrid
Atletico are rounding into some of the form that they had last year at this time. They won 15 on the bounce, a club record, and they come into this one having won seven matches in a row.
Expect Atleti to return to their strongest side after several key players were rested in the weekend win against Real Oviedo. That makes the returns of players, including Julian Alvarez, Pablo Barrios, and Jose Maria Gimenez, more than likely.
Koke is still a key figure for the Rojiblancos, even in a season where he was expected to be winding down his legendary career. He played 74 minutes against Oviedo, but it would be a shock if he didn’t start this one, given the magnitude of the result.
Best Bets
Barca have been outstanding at home in La Liga. They are a perfect seven wins from seven matches. They have scored 23 goals and conceded just four.
Atletico Madrid have won their last two away La Liga games, but before that, they had taken just three points from a possible 12 on their travels.
I would take Barca to win in front of their home fans. A bet builder I can get on board with is a Barca win, over 2.5 goals, and both teams to score. That pays 53/31 with BetXchange.
