The race for the DStv Premiership title continues this weekend with runaway log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns up against bitter rivals and struggling Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus on Sunday in what is without doubt the match of this round of fixtures.

Sundowns go into this clash looking for all the three points to increase their lead at the top of the table over second-placed Golden Arrows and third-placed AmaZulu while at the same time wanting to stretch their unbeaten league record to 22 games.

In Chiefs, the Brazilains are up against a team that is going through a poor run of form in the league but has the ability to rise to the occasion in this high profile match against their rivals where three points and bragging rights will be on offer.

Eyes will also be on surprise pacesetters Golden Arrows and AmaZulu to see if they will continue with their good form and continue to keep tabs on Sundowns who have opened a lead of six points with have two games in hand.

Maritzburg United vs Baroka

Maritzburg have blown hot and cold this season and their inconsistent run have left them troubled in the relegation zone throughout the season.

After 21 matches, they sitting fourth from the bottom but they have a chance to solidify that position with three points against Baroka who have also encountered problems of inconsistency during the campaign.

Baroka, who go into this game on the back of a morale boosting away win over troubled Chippa United, are looking to maintain their place in the top eight bracket with what will be their second win in succession in Pietermaritzburg.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Kaizer Chiefs

This is undoubtedly the match of the weekend where the Brazilians are targeting to increase their lead at the top of the pile while high on the agenda of Amakhosi will be to return back to winning ways.

Sundowns were held to a 0-0 draw by AmaZulu in their last league game on Wednesday but they still have a six points lead at the top of the log while Chiefs are struggling on eleventh position and they may drop to twelfth by the end of this weekend.
