The GladAfrica Championship has entered the business end with an average of six matches remaining the season for majority of the clubs as the top placed teams continue to chase automatic promotion.

Richards Bay are in the pound seat going into this round of fixtures where they are visiting fellow automatic promotion hopefuls Sekhukhune United at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa in what is expected to be a fiercely contested affair.

Other automatic promotion hopefuls in the form of TS Sporting, Royal AM, Free State Stars and JDR Stars will also be in action this weekend looking to improve their positions at the top half of the table.

Bizana Pondo Chiefs vs Free State Stars

Fifth placed Free State Stars will be favourites to win this match in Durban where they will be visiting struggling and bottom of the log Bizana Pondo Chiefs. Chiefs are perched at the foot of the table and have only one win form their last five matches.

JDR Stars vs Polokwane City

This is expected to be a hotly contested affair. A win and favourable results elsewhere will see JDR Stars can move to second spot on the log while on the other hand Polokwane, have issues of their own, will return to top eight with a win.

Royal AM vs Uthongathi

Third-placed Royal AM will be looking to return back to winning ways following a draw and a loss in their last two matches which has seen them lose ground on Richards Bay at the top. For Uthongathi, three points may see them move as high as fourth from seventh place where they are now.

Cape Town All Stars vs TS Sporting

Second-placed TS Sporting will be going all out for their second win in succession and close the gap on log leaders Richards Bay when they take on struggling Cape Town All Stars who are sitting dangerously in the bottom half of the table.

Jomo Cosmos v Steenberg United

Cosmos have been inconsistent but they have shown some improvements over the past five matches where they two wins, two draws and one loss and they will fancy their chances of victory against Steenberg who are sitting second from the bottom.

Cape Town Spurs vs Cape Umoya United

With two wins, two draws and one loss in their last five games, Cape Town Spurs have moved out of the bottom three but their problems are not over as defeat against Cape United in the Cape Town derby may see them dragged back in the relegation zone.

University of Pretoria and Pretoria Callies have been inconsistent for most parts of the season and they meet at this critical stage of the season with both needing a win to improve their positions on the standings.

Richards Bay vs Sekhukhune United

This is without doubt the match of the weekend, Richards Bay and Sekhukhune have largely been involved in the battle for automatic promotion all season long at the top of the standings.

They meet at this stage of the season with the Richards Bay looking to improve their advantage at the top of the log while Sekhukhune are looking for three points to move back to second-spot.
