All eyes turn to Northern Hemisphere rugby union as the Six Nations gets underway, with defending champions France looking to defend their title. Les Blues picked up a Grand Slam in 2022 and they have been the driving forces in world rugby over the past 12 months.
Change has been afoot across most of the teams ahead of the 2023 Six Nations, with both England and Wales having changed their managerial team in recent times. Two sides that will be desperate to get off to fast starts face off as Wales take on Ireland in Cardiff. Warren Gatland is back at the helm for Wales, who endured a horrid time of things under Wayne Pivac and he will see this as a real chance to put down a marker.
Ireland meanwhile have been steadily improving under Andy Farrell and their squad has the makings of a Championship winning one. Winning in Cardiff would be a real mark in the sand for Ireland and whilst they won’t have things all their own way, they should prevail here.

The Calcutta Cup is once again on the line as England host Scotland at Twickenham. It is all change at HQ as Graham Rowntree is now the man at the helm for England and he will want to get off to a winning start here at home against the old enemy.
Scotland meanwhile are an improving side, particularly at Six Nations level and they will be eager to build on the clear progress they have made over the past couple of years. England should be bang up for this one though and they should pick up a home win here.

Italy vs France
Match Preview
Defending champions France get their Six Nations campaign underway on the road at Italy and with a Grand Slam to defend and a home World Cup, it is a huge 12 months for French rugby. Stopping the free flowing French will be a tough ask for an Italian side that have been improving both domestically and internationally over the past few seasons, but this is a real step up.
This should be a lot closer than the odds suggest, especially with the Stadio Olimpico crowd in full voice but France are a quality outfit who should win well here.
