The NBA season starts this week, and basketball lovers from across the world can’t wait for that first tip-off. We need to say a few words bout the upcoming campaign, which is why we wrote this piece in the first place.

Please take five minutes to review several very important updates and information, as well as who the biggest favorites are to take the title and win the MVP award.

As we all know, the Celtics won the title, and we need to say that they fully deserved that. The team from Boston was constant throughout the entire year, and it’s no wonder why they sliced the Mavs in the big finals. On the other hand, the previous champs, the Nuggets, were stopped in a wild West semis series by the Timberwolves, who later suffered a defeat to the Dallas Mavs. Overall, the West was far more interesting to watch than the Eastern part of the playoffs.

We haven’t seen any other teams capable of challenging these few. Golden State wasn’t playing as expected, the Lakers were mediocre, and the Heat and the Sixers looked banged up all season long. The same applies to the Bucks.

Here are all NBA odds at one place.

New York and Philly Making a Move

The two biggest free agency moves were Karl-Anthony Towns to New York and Paul George’s return to the Sixers. This means that the Atlantic Division is going to be stacked with quality because the champions, the Boston Celtics, are there as well.

Both the Knicks and the T-Wolves profited from their deal because they got players who will be very useful in their plans. Julius Randle landed in Minneapolis, and the team from Target Center will finally have a strong frontcourt that will be able to deliver points from under the rim. Plus, he won’t shoot that much from behind the arc, which is a relief for a potent Minnesota backcourt.

The Knicks have the star power to attack the title, something they lacked over the years. The only thing questionable is the chemistry between Brunson and KAT. During the preseason, they looked good. Will that continue? Time will tell.

As for the Sixers, they are all-in now. PG is back, and with Embiid and the rest of the crew, anything but the East Finals would be a huge blow for Philly.

We need to add Klay Thompson’s departure to Dallas, where he deepens the Mavs’ rotation massively. He just might be what this team needed to go all the way.

Title Contenders

The Celtics are undoubtedly the No.1 team in the power rankings. They’ve kept all the players and even maybe improved the roster a bit. As long as Brown, Tatum, and White are healthy, this team is the best in the NBA.

Denver Nuggets and the Timberwolves are right behind because these two teams already have winning chemistry and enough experience to perform well in the offseason.

OKC Thunder, the Sixers, and the Knicks are in the second echelon of favorites, while the Orlando Magic is our personal dark horse. They, the Mavs, the Bucks, and the Pacers are all in one group as well. Though, for the moment, they would need a lot to happen to win the championship.

MVP Contenders

Jokic. That’s it. For the moment, we see Jokic and then all the others. Denver’s center is by far the best player in the league, and he probably will stay there. The only one who could challenge the three-time NBA MVP is Anthony Edwards, due to his undisputed status in Minnesota after KAT’s departure.

All the other players, like Tatum, Brown, Haliburton, LeBron, Embiid, right now don’t fit in this story.
