The first ever Cazoo Classic takes place at the iconic London Golf Club this weekend. It was previously know as the English Open, but sponsorship reasons means that it is now known as the Cazoo Classic. It looks set to be a huge weekend, as a number of players will be looking for vital Ryder Cup points.

Event Information

The Cazoo Classic will take place at the beautiful London Golf Club. There have been two previous European Tour events to be staged on the Heritage course, with these taking place in 2008 and 2009. The winner of the most recent event was Christian Cevear, as the French star won by one stroke. Players will play the Cazoo Classic over 7,327 yards, and is a stroke play event. There is a par 72 for the event, with a purse of €1,250,000.

Players To Watch

Bernd Wiesberger- 18/1

Bernd Wiesberger will be the favourite with BetXchange for the Cazoo Classic this weekend. The Austrian has won eight European Tour events during his career, and is the ranked as the 21st best player in the world. Since he turned profressional, he has won 12 events, with his most recent win coming at the Made in HimmerLand earlier this year, as he beat Guido Migliozzi by five strokes.

This will be his first start since finishing in a tie for 59th at The Open back in July. Since winning the Made in HimmerLand, he has finished in the top ten on just one occasion, with that coming in the BMW International Open in June. However, he is likely to be at the top of his game this weekend, as he looks to make the Ryder Cup team.

Andy Sullivan- 22/1

Andy Sullivan is a very consistent player on the European Tour, and he will be looking for a fifth victory on the tour this weekend. He last won an event at the English Championship last year, which ended his five-year wait for a success. He is more than overdue a success on the European Tour, but will need to improve after finishing just inside of the top 50 on each of his last appearances.

Sullivan finished in a tie for 48th on his last start on the European Tour in the Hero Open. His last top ten finish was at the BMW International Open, as he finished in a tie for fifth. He certainly has each-way claims this weekend, after finishing in the top ten on two occasions already this season.

Masahiro Kawamura- 22/1

The wait for a European Tour success could be close to coming to an end for Masahiro Kawamura, as his form has been improving throughout the season. He comes into the Cazoo Classic having finished in a tie for 16th in the Hero Open last weekend.

However, prior to that outing, he had finished in the top ten in his last three events. He was unfortunate in the ISPS HANDA World Invitational at the beginning of August, as he finished in a tie for third, and was fifth in the Cazoo Open at the end of July.

Cazoo Classic Prediction

We would be keen to take a chance on a big priced outsider with strong each-way claims. Lucas Bjerregaard is a 125/1 chance with BetXchange, but his form over the past couple of weeks is encouraging. The Norwegian player has won six professional events throughout his career, with his last win coming at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in 2018. Most recently, he finished in a tie for tenth at the Hero Open.

Pick: Lucas Bjerregaard (EW) with BetXchange.
