The entire Brittish island was shaken earlier this week when Rafael Benitez decided to leave Newcastle. The Spanish manager and the Magpies owner Mike Ashley didn’t negotiate a deal which would keep Benitez at Saint James Park in the future.

After three years of leading this team, the Spaniard will officially become free on June 30th, and according to various sources, his next destination is going to be – China.

Dalian Yifang is seriously interested in his services, and a sum of £12 million pounds per year is allegedly on the table for him. There were some guessings that it might be even higher, but for now this is the most realistic information.

His departure from Newcastle created room for all sorts of speculations. Lots of names appear in headlines on a daily basis, and each one is linked with the managerial job at St. James Park.

Among them is Jose Mourinho, who stated earlier today that he is a “winner,” suggesting that his move up north is not possible.

Meanwhile, two other names suddenly became in the center of attention. One is Steven Gerrard and the other, Patrick Vieira.

Both of them played against the Magpies on numerous occasions and knew the greatness of this club. But there are obstacles.

Gerrard and Vieira have contracts with other clubs. Liverpool’s star is with the Glasgow Rangers, while former Arsenal midfielder is in Nice.

For the moment, there aren’t any official contacts between any of the clubs, but there are indications that something could happen pretty soon.
