The men’s Dubai Tennis Championships gets underway on Monday, with some of the leading players in the world set to be in action. The competition will run until the 21st March, but which player will be set to crown their week with a noteworthy success in the event?

Previous Winners Of Men’s Dubai Tennis Championships

The Dubai Tennis Championship has been a huge part of the men’s calendar since being introduced for the first time in 1993. The event has recently been won by the likes of Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in recent seasons, with Djokovic coming into the event this year as the defending champion. Federer remains the most successful player in the history of the event, as he has won on eight previous occasions. Djokovic has won on five occasions.

Federer and Djokovic are the only players in the history of the event to win three straight titles. The Serb achieved the feat most recently, as he recorded three successes between 2009 and 2011. One player to keep an eye on this year will be Stefanos Tsitsipas, who has finished as the runner-up in each of the last two competitions. However, he was beaten on both occasions in straight sets. Federer beat him in the final in 2019, before Djokovic beat him at the same stage 12 months ago.

Front Runners To Win The Dubai Tennis Championships

Like all tennis competitions, the betting will be dominated by Djokovic. His chances of claiming a success in the event would have been helped by the recent announcement that Federer will not be involved in the event. The Swiss star returned to the court for the first time in 13 months in Qatar, but was knocked out in the quarterfinals. Shortly after his defeat, he announced that he wouldn’t be involved in Dubai as he wanted to instead focus on his training.

For that reason, it will be incredibly hard to look past Djokovic as the winner, and he will be the heavy favourite to pick up the win according to the BetXChange odds.

Gamblers looking for extra value in the market could look towards Roberto Bautista Agut and Andrey Rublev, who have both been in tremendous form throughout the Qatar Open. Bautista Agut saw off Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals of that event after a pulsating match up between the stars. Thiem will also be a prominent player in the market, as the Austrian looks to continue his form on the hard courts. He was most notably successful in the US Open last year, and this could be a good opportunity to continue that excellent form from the backend of 2020.

Men’s Dubai Tennis Championships Pick

It will be incredibly hard to bet against Djokovic reclaiming his title in Dubai over the next week or so, and he will be a prominent selection for gamblers. However, Thiem could also be a good value pick providing that he is given a good draw.

Pick: Djokovic to win the Dubai Tennis Championships with BetXChange.
