It is not all that often that we get a blockbuster deal at the start of the summer transfer window. Normally the top end signings take a little bit of time as fees, contracts, and all the rest are agreed upon with the selling club and the player.

This summer, however, we have a huge transfer right out of the gate as it appears that barring some form of major collapse the deal that will send Chelsea winger Eden Hazard to Real Madrid is complete.

Real are looking to unveil Hazard at the end of the week, trying to beat Barcelona to a big signing as they try to run down their Catalan rivals in the league after a less than successful 2018-19 campaign.

The fee is said to be in the region of £88 million initially, with another £42 million in add-ons possible depending on performance.

Hazard is expected to double his salary, putting him on something close to £400,00 per week playing in Spain.

The interesting footnote to this deal is that Chelsea would love Gareth Bale in exchange for Hazard. Unfortunately for the Blues they are unable to make this work because they are currently under a transfer ban.

Chelsea are currently the fifth favourites to win the Premier League at 21.00. Real are the second favourites for the 2019-20 La Liga Crown at 1.25 behind Barcelona with BetXChange.
