SuperSport United have a chance to narrow the gap on log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the log to just one point when they take on Orlando Pirates at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Wednesday. This anticipated match against Pirates comes shortly after SuperSport were held to a 1-1 draw with other Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday. Both SuperSport and Pirates will be looking to collect maximum points to boost their respective ambitions. In other matches of this round of fixtures, high flying Golden Arrows host struggling Black Leopards in Durban while Bloemfontein Celtic hit the road to face TS Galaxy in Gauteng.

Golden Arrows vs Black Leopards

Date: Tuesday, 23 February 2021

·         Arrows – 0.88

·         Leopards – 3.34

·         Draw – 2.22

Golden Arrows will overtake Swallows to third spot with if they continue with their red hot recent form by annexing all the three points against bottom placed Black Leopards. Arrows players will be highly motivated for this clash because they are on three match winning streak after beating Maritzburg United, Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch. In this three match unbeaten run, Arrows scored seven goals and they are expected to pile more woe on Leopards who have lost all last five matches. Leopards, who recently appointed Kosta Papic as technical manager, are running out of time to save their status in the PSL and victory will be vital against Arrows.

TS Galaxy vs Bloemfontein Celtic

Date: Wednesday, 24 February 2021

·         Galaxy – 1.14

·         Celtic – 2.86

·         Draw – 1.96

This is clash of two inconsistent teams in the league who will both be looking for three points to move out of the bottom half of the table where they are hovering above the relegation zone. Little separate them on the standings with Celtic sitting 10th spot with 18 points while Galaxy are one place below them with 16 points. However, Galaxy have played one match less going into this match where coach Owen Da Gama is looking for anything less than three points. Their recent matches are identical having both registered a win and a draw and they can’t afford to drop points because they are under pressure from Chippa United and Stellenbosch below them.

SuperSport United vs Orlando Pirates

Date: Wednesday, 24 February 2021

·         SuperSport – 1.88

·         Pirates – 1.67

·         Draw – 1.92

This is definitely the match of this round. In the past, SuperSport and Pirates have always produced enthralling affairs and it is hoped that this one will live up to the pre-match hype as they look to improve their respective positions. A win will see SuperSport narrowing the gap on Mamelodi Sundowns to one point and on the other hand a win for Pirates will seen them move to third spot if Golden Arrows lose to Black Leopards on Tuesday. In their last league match, SuperSport were held to a 1-1 draw by Kaizer Chiefs while Pirates, who were involved in Caf Confederation Cup action at the weekend, beat Cape Town City the last time they appeared in the DStv Premiership.
